A life as Social Media Marketer!

My life starts with Facebook and ends with Instagram.

Up until I was 19, I was not sure as to what career I would like to go for; one day the journalists inspired me but the very next day I wanted to be an HR Manager🤷🏻‍♀️

It was not until my last semester during my undergrad school, I found my passion in Content Marketing, it was this quote by Lee Odden that truly intrigued me,

“Content is not the King. It’s the kingdom." - Lee Odden.

And then began my journey as Content Writer! I wrote pieces for various websites, product descriptions, brochures, articles, and much more. But one thing I liked more than writing was to strategize and plan for my company’s Social Media accounts. Don’t at me, I still love writing but when it came to strategizing about what our Instagram audience would love to see; gave me more kick and that’s what happened when I changed my role from Content Writer to Digital/Social Media Marketer.

Working as Social Media Marketer has its own perks and disadvantages, we work on holidays and off office hours because an idea can strike anywhere and to channel it, brains can’t take offs! :p

But on and all if asked if I regret choosing this field, it would be a BIG FAT NO, I would choose this career over and over!

Although I still sometimes get confused about whether I should go for content marketing or digital marketing — social media marketing if specific, and when the time comes I’m sure I’ll find my way but in the meantime, this is what I do! Those fun behind making reels to thinking how aesthetic the feed may look and to get more than 10k views on reels, ahh, this is my life and I’m happiest with it.
